Readily Accessible Psychiatric, Mental and Behavioral Health Care Across California
Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and the Bay Area

We are accepting new clients.
HarmonyMBS is a private-pay telehealth psychiatric practice serving adults ages 18 to 59 throughout California. Care is often available within days of your request. You do not need a diagnosis to begin, and no label is required to continue. Every decision about your care is made collaboratively, based on your needs, your goals, and what is clinically appropriate for you, rather than insurance considerations. Your health information is maintained in a secure, HIPAA-compliant electronic health record and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Initial Consultation - 20 minutes | $50

The Initial Consultation is where care begins. It is an opportunity to talk briefly about what has been happening, what prompted you to reach out, and what you hope to accomplish. Your practitioner will explain how care is approached at HarmonyMBS, answer your questions, and help determine whether the practice is the right fit for your needs.

There is no obligation to continue. If you decide to move forward with a Comprehensive Evaluation, the consultation fee is applied toward that appointment.

Comprehensive Evaluation - 90 minutes | $800

The Comprehensive Evaluation is the foundation of care at HarmonyMBS. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or a diagnosis, it explores the broader picture of your emotional health, life experiences, relationships, medical history, daily functioning, lifestyle, and the factors that may be influencing how you are feeling today.

This is not simply a checklist or a search for a diagnosis. It is a thoughtful, collaborative conversation designed to better understand your experiences, explore what may be contributing to your concerns, and help guide decisions about your care moving forward. Together, you and your practitioner will consider options that align with your needs and goals. Those options may include psychotherapy, medication management when appropriate, lifestyle changes, additional assessment, coordination with other healthcare providers, or a combination of approaches as appropriate.

Ongoing Care - 50 minute | $450 & 25 minute | $350

Ongoing care is tailored to your needs and may change over time. Depending on what is most helpful at a particular point in your care, follow-up appointments may be scheduled as either 50-minute or 25-minute visits.

Both appointment lengths support the same collaborative approach to care and may include psychotherapy, medication management when appropriate, discussion of lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, and activity, review of your progress, and adjustments to your care as appropriate.

50-minute Follow-Up Appointment
Provides additional time to explore concerns more fully, revisit earlier conversations, or spend more time working through issues that benefit from a longer visit.

25-minute Follow-Up Appointment
May be appropriate when a shorter visit provides enough time to address more focused concerns, revisit earlier conversations, or provide medication management when appropriate.

Interim Services - $75 per 10 minute increment

Some aspects of care take place between scheduled appointments. Interim Services cover professional time devoted to your care outside of office visits.

Examples include:

  • Telephone conversations with you or family members
  • Consultation with other healthcare professionals involved in your care
  • Letters or forms, including disability, FMLA, bariatric surgery clearance, or documentation supporting gender-affirming care
  • Transfer of medical records
  • Review of laboratory results, genetic testing, records from other healthcare providers, or other clinically relevant documents

Payment

We believe financial expectations should be clear from the beginning. Payment for telehealth appointments is due 10 to 60 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Accepted payment methods include debit and credit cards.

HarmonyMBS is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. If your health plan includes out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Because benefits vary, we recommend contacting your insurance carrier before your first appointment to better understand your coverage and any deductible, copayment, or coinsurance that may apply.

Cancellations and Missed Appointments

Appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible. This allows us to offer that appointment to another individual seeking care.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are subject to the full appointment fee.

How We Approach Care

Care begins with developing a clearer understanding of what has been changing, how the pattern has been unfolding, and what may be contributing to it. A strong starting point often emerges through the Comprehensive Evaluation, while additional context and understanding continue to develop over time.

Some patterns are tied closely to stress or life circumstances. Others persist even when external pressures ease. Sleep, health history, stress load, prior treatment experiences, and the way the pattern has developed over time all help shape what support may be most useful.

Medication may be considered when appropriate, not simply to suppress symptoms, but to reduce the level of constant activation to a level that allows the system to regain flexibility. Care remains collaborative and adjusts over time as understanding deepens and needs change.

Frequently Asked Questions

HarmonyMBS is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. If your health plan includes out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Because every plan is different, we recommend contacting your insurance carrier before your first appointment to better understand your coverage and any deductible, copayment, or coinsurance that may apply.

A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the information your insurance company may require to review a request for out-of-network reimbursement. If your health plan includes these benefits, you can submit the superbill directly to your insurance carrier. Reimbursement is determined by your individual policy and cannot be guaranteed.

A Comprehensive Evaluation is the starting point for all new patients. It provides the time needed to develop a thorough understanding of your current concerns, personal history, overall health, daily functioning, and the factors that may be influencing your well-being. Even if you have received mental health care in the past or have an existing diagnosis, we begin with a fresh, thoughtful evaluation to better understand who you are today rather than relying solely on previous records or diagnoses.

Follow-Up Appointments are designed for established patients after the Comprehensive Evaluation has been completed. They build on the understanding developed during the evaluation and support ongoing care as your needs, goals, and circumstances evolve over time.

Follow-up appointments may be scheduled as either 50-minute or 25-minute visits, depending on what would be most helpful at that point in your care. Some visits benefit from additional time to explore concerns more fully or revisit earlier conversations, while others can effectively address more focused concerns in a shorter appointment. Together, you and your practitioner will decide which appointment length best supports your needs.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, are feeling unsafe, or are thinking about harming yourself or others, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department. If your concern is urgent but can safely wait until the next business day, the options below may be appropriate.

If you need non-urgent support between scheduled appointments, we encourage you to first check the self-scheduling calendar in your Patient Portal to see whether a follow-up appointment is available within a reasonable time. If your concern can safely wait until the next business day, you may also send a secure message to your practitioner through the Patient Portal. Portal messaging is secure and appropriate for routine questions, medication refill requests, and other non-urgent concerns.

For established patients, Interim Services may be appropriate when brief clinical support is needed between scheduled appointments and a full follow-up visit is not necessary. These services are separate from routine portal messaging and are billed according to the Interim Services fee schedule.

Appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible so the appointment may be offered to another individual seeking care. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are subject to the full appointment fee.

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please use the self-scheduling calendar in your Patient Portal. If you are unable to make the change through the portal, you may also send a secure message to your practitioner for assistance.
